A Good Time Frame For Potty Training Boys

When should you start potty training boys? Well, that going to differ depending on the child. I was reading an article in the Savannah Morning News that stated that the most important factor in deciding when to start potty training boys is what is the boy’s interest level? Because let’s face it - you could start potty training boys when they’re a year old, but they won’t be interested so you might as well give up on that.

Generally, boys don’t have bladder control until their about 18 months. So starting before than might be jumping the gun. Some boys might be fully potty trained by 2 years, while some others might not start until after they’re two years old. So there is a wide time frame to use for potty training boys, but the main deciding factor is going to be your child's readiness.

On average - most boys finish potty training after their third birthday. When should you be worried about when they should be done? Well, the article finishes by saying that if the boy isn’t toilet trained by 4, you should consult your doctor. Potty training boys doesn't have to be difficult - just arm yourself with a little knowledge and info and you'll both be better prepared!
